Another busy week, here at the P & S Central. The paint shop finished up the tank car for the circus.. and then the new 25 ton crane was repainted and lettered, so that is now in service. The I & S Railroad out of Brandon Florida took delivery of a new locomotive. I managed to get a few pictures while it was passing through.
On Friday, we had a little excitement. The old citrus tree in the middle of Lake Alfred, had one limb that was dead... So I started cutting that one out. Making a long story short, I was pulling on a limb I had cut when the whole dead limb broke loose and leaned over onto the Shed. I then layed my 6 foot step ladder on its side next to the tracks, and with the help of Shirley and Stan Kotas, we were able to push it off of the shed, free of the tree trunk, and it crashed onto the step ladder crushing it... but did not damage the track. I love it when a plan comes together like that.
I received a message from Don Sweet (RCS of NE) that the Mikado is out of the shop and now being tested prior to being shipped to the P & S Central.
The Florida Garden Railroad Society has a display at 'MOSI" (Museum of Science and Industry) in Tampa all week. Today #27 hauled some of the "springtime" cars for the event.
Something you don't see very often...

Speaking of Clover Ridge.....
Here's the News from Clover Ridge
There was a fire at Diane's Restaurant today . Every one got out with out any injuries . Diane said, she thought it started in the kitchen and she would rebuild on the property just north of the switch at whistle stop junction.
Investigators, found the fire started in the grease trap and sited lack of maintenance was the real cause. The FD saved some of the furniture but the building was a total loss.
